Why Choose My NYC Painters Over Other Painting Companies in New York?

Hiring a painter in NYC can be frustrating. Some companies quote a low price to win the job and then increase it once they have already started painting. Other painters lack professionalism; they work on their cell phones, do not have a customer service team, and demand photos for an estimate without asking for basic information such as name and email address.

We don't work that way.

We prioritize customer service and you can find our average prices on our website. Contact a My NYC Painter and we would be happy to give you an estimate over the phone, without you having to send photos. Once you're given a quote, we honor that price by making it binding, and we guarantee your 100% satisfaction.

Reliable PAINTERS NYC AT Affordable Costs.

In New York City, painting companies are generally expensive. On average, painting a small 1-bedroom apartment in NYC costs about $5,000. That's because professional painters typically charge between $2 and $7 per square foot (not by the hour), plus the cost of materials, which can range from $300 to over $1,000.

The result? Painting almost always costs more than expected, especially in NYC, where labor and materials are at a premium. Most painting companies cost around $5,000–$6,000 for small apartments 600 - 800sqft. For larger homes and projects, painting can easily reach $9,000 or more.

While it's true that you get what you pay for, you shouldn't have to pay thousands for a painting service, especially if you just want a basic paint job. That's where My NYC Painters stands out: we strike the perfect balance between affordable painting rates and a polished, high-end finish.

How Much Does Our Painting Service Costs?

  • 1-Bedroom Apartment ~ $3,800, painting materials included.

  • 3-bedroom apartment  ~ $6,000 to $7,000 painting materials included.

What those flat rates include:

walls and standard ceilings up to 9 feet, two finish coats, minor nail‑hole filling, careful floor and furniture protection, quality materials, and full cleanup.

Important Note:

Home and apartment painting costs in New York will can vary depending on the borough or surrounding areas we serve—including Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Larger apartments or homes, as well as add-ons like ceilings, trims, closets, and doors, will increase the total cost of your project. Each house and apartment layout is unique, and consumers' wants and needs vary, so it's best to contact a representative at my NYC Painters for an accurate quote. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

Apartment Painting NYC Flat Rates.

My NYC painters will never re-negotiate the price with our customers once we agree to a quote. This is common with unethical painting companies in New York and Manhattan that low-ball your quote and then argue for a higher rate once the service has begun. My NYC painters honor their rates, even if the service was more work than anticipated.

Interior Painting Done Right.

Most of our work is interior repainting for NYC apartments, condos, and brownstones. We start with protection—floors covered, furniture wrapped, and paths secured so common areas stay clean. Then we address small repairs and prep: patching nail holes, sanding rough spots, caulking gaps where needed, and priming problem areas for an even finish. After that, we apply two consistent coats for rich color and straight lines. When we’re done, we do a blue‑tape walkthrough with you and leave the space neat and livable.

Exterior House Painting.

For exterior work, our focus is durability and clean detail. We start with washing and surface prep—scraping loose paint, sanding, repairing small areas, and caulking seams to keep water out. We select the right primer for the surface (masonry, wood, or metal) and finish with two coats designed to withstand the weather. Railings, stoops, windows, and neighboring surfaces are carefully protected so the job looks intentional, not messy.
